Meet The Fall 2022 Team
Kiara Giselle Campos
President
Kiara Campos is the President of Business Women Society. She is a current senior majoring in Management and and has been a member of the Honors College since Spring 2022. She has been an active member of BWS since Fall 2021.
Kiara’s first semester at the University of Houston was the Fall of 2021 where she was taking all asynchronous, online classes. She figured she would at least try to get involved in at least one Bauer organization during her time at UH. She came across BWS on the Bauer website of student organizations, and it was clear that BWS was the organization she wanted to participate. It was right after the first social at Barkley's that she knew she wanted to be more than just a member. Being surrounded by incredibly kind and like-minded women was something Kiara wanted to be a part of!
When not at school or attending/coordinating BWS events, Kiara works as a legal assistant at a Mass Torts law firm and is concurrently finishing her second AAS in Paralegal Technology at Houston Community College.
Ariana Lee
Vice President
Ariana Lee is the Vice President of Business Women Society. She was born in New York but grew up in Houston. She’s a senior in the Honor’s College majoring in Management Information Systems.
Ariana joined BWS in the Spring of 2021 after feeling supported and welcomed by the women she met during Bauer Involvement Week. She states that BWS has really helped her feel plugged in and motivated after her classes moved online due to the pandemic. When she is not studying, she likes to spend time with her puppy, workout, travel, and cook. She got her yoga teacher training certificate last summer as well.
As the Vice President, she wants to accurately reflect the org’s mission in exciting, fun new ways. She hopes to increase member engagement and get more women to join BWS. She wants to empower as many women as possible by creating a supportive, loving environment.
Shaem Siddiqi
Finance Director
Shaem Siddiqi is the Finance Director for Business Women’s Society. She is a junior planning to major in Finance and minor in Marketing. After her undergrad, she plans on pursuing Law School. Shaem joined BWS in Spring 2022, and is excited to serve as an officer this year!
In her free time, she enjoys discovering new coffee shops, baking, watching Netflix, or just spending time with family and friends. A fun fact about her is that she had her own small business back in 2014, where she sold handcrafted jewelry!
As Finance Director this year, Shaem is looking forward to growing her skill set, both personally and professionally. After joining BWS, Shaem found herself as part of a team that encourages one another to grow. Similarly, her goal as an officer is to make BWS a space where every member can find the support necessary to help them succeed in their professional journey, while enjoying the company of an amazing family- the BWS family!
Mariana Pirovolou
Finance Manager
Mariana Pirovolou is the Finance Manger for Business Women’s Society. She is a sophomore planning to major in finance at the C.T. Bauer College of Business and recently joined the Honors College program. She joined BWS in Fall 2021, and looks forward for the upcoming semester!
In her free time, Mariana enjoys cooking, painting, working out, and going on adventures! A fun fact about herself is that she is half Greek and half Colombian, and she lived in Brazil for a few years!
Upon becoming an officer, Mariana looks forward to exercising a leadership role, and collaborating with her team to help further her professional development. Her goals as an officer are to create an inclusive environment so members can feel apart of something, and create connections. Additionally, she would like to encourage as many members as possible to pursue their professional goals!
Aaisha Singh
Operations Director
Aaisha Singh is the Operations Director of the Business Women Society. She joined BWS her freshmen year then rejoined in the Fall of 2021 where she actively participated and decided to run for an officer position. She is a senior majoring in Biotechnology and will be graduating in the Spring of 2023.
Aaisha also currently works at the Dean’s Office at Bauer as a front desk representative. In her free time she enjoys building Lego sets, going on walks, spending time with friends and family, and watching her tv shows. She also enjoys traveling and has visited 12 countries so far. Her favorite country has been Switzerland.
Aaisha’s main reason for running for an officer position and joining BWS is to build connections with talented and empowering women. She also hopes to build lasting friendships and finish off her time at UH by building a memorable semester with the organization.
Jasmine Hernandez
Logistics Manager
Jasmine Hernandez is the current Logistics Manager for Business Women Society. She is a senior majoring in Management and minoring in Marketing. Jasmine joined BWS in fall of 2021.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping and getting Starbucks/boba. Jasmine loves sitting back with a nice snack while watching tik toks or Netflix/Disney plus.
Her goal as an officer is to create a welcoming environment for new members. She would love to make new friendships with new members and make them feel included. By joining BWS, it has pushed her to be more confident and be able to come out of her comfort zone. She want new members to be able to feel the same way.
Ghia Daswani
Senior Corporate Relations Director
Ghia Daswani is the Senior Corporate Director for Business Women’s Society. She is a junior majoring in Management Information System at the C.T. Bauer College of Business. She joined BWS in Spring 2022, and looks forward for the upcoming semester!
In her free time, Ghia enjoys dancing, playing tennis, baking, and hanging with friends! A fun fact about herself is that she has been dancing since she was 2 years old!
Upon becoming an officer, Ghia looks forward to networking with different companies and building bonds with her officer team. Her goals as an officer are to collaborate with different corporate companies to organize great professional meetings. Additionally, she wants BWS members to have a lot of connections and gain internships or full time offers through the corporate events organized by the corporate relations team.
Sophia Olmos
Junior Corporate Relations
Sophia Olmos is the Junior Corporate Relations Director for Business Women Society. She is a junior majoring in marketing at C.T. Bauer College of Business. After graduation, she plans to start her professional career in marketing and eventually obtain an associate degree in fashion design.
Sophia joined BWS in Fall 2021 when researching student organizations. Because she attends many classes online, BWS has helped her connect with peers and develop skills necessary for her career. In her free time, she exercises her creativity through digital art, clothing design, and sewing.
Her goals as Junior Corporate Relations Director are to create great connections and help other members find opportunities through BWS events. In addition, she hopes to contribute to the creation of a welcoming environment for new BWS members.
Luz Miranda
Member Relations Director
Luz Miranda is the Fall 2022 Member Relations Director for Business Women Society. She will graduate in December 2022 with her Bachelors in Accounting, and will continue to grow her career through her position at a CPA accounting firm upon graduating.
Luz loves to travel in her spare time and spend time with her friends. She also likes to shop and go to concerts. A fun fact about her is that she’s left handed and once touched Post Malone’s hand.
Her goal for BWS this semester is to plan fun socials for all the members to enjoy, and meet each other. She can’t wait to meet all the new members this Fall!
Zori Russell
Community Service Director
Zori Russell is the Community Service Director for Business Women Society and has been an active member since Fall 2021. She is a senior, majoring in Finance with a minor in Technology Leadership and Innovation Management.
She is from McKinney, a suburb north of Dallas. Although she loves her home, she has really enjoyed her life in Houston. In her free time, Zori enjoys indoor cycling, spending time with loved ones, reading, and watching true crime/medical dramas.
BWS helped Zori adjust to life as a transfer student by allowing her to meet new friends and to join a community of strong and like-minded women. One of her goals for this semester is to continue creating a positive and welcoming environment for all members. Her goal for the Media and Outreach Directorate is to increase member engagement for all events and give back to the community. The personal and professional development that BWS provides has been very beneficial to her and she hopes to encourage others to join and experience everything BWS has to offer.
Hiba Khurshid
Secretary
Hiba Khurshid is the Secretary for the Business Women Society and joined BWS in Spring 2022 and is excited to serve as an officer! She is a junior at the C.T. Bauer College of Business, majoring in Management Information Systems and minoring in Data Science. After her undergrad, she plans on pursuing a Masters of Business Administration in Information Technology!
When not busy caught up with BWS secretary work :P, school, or her internship, Hiba loves spending time with her family, hanging with friends, going to the gym, playing badminton, and a fun fact is she was born in raised in the Middle East, specifically the eastern province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As Secretary, one of Hiba’s goals for this semester is to welcome all BWS members with open arms and ensure that there is an empowering environment. It is crucial for officers to be approachable and be there for members, to give guidance and support. Each of us women are like-minded, driven, and are motivated to reach both our personal and professional goals. Hiba is looking forward to a great semester.
