About BUSINESS Women Society

Business Women Society is a premier undergraduate organization at the C.T. Bauer College of Business. In Business Women Society, members will have the opportunity to participate in professional meetings, make connections with leaders that will guide them through the college years, and build a network with like-minded individuals across the University of Houston.

In the past, we have brought in recruiters from Amegy Bank, Chevron, Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, KMPG, Reynolds and Reynolds, Enterprise, and small businesses across the Greater Houston area. Participation in Business Women Society also allows members to be active leaders focusing on what they have learned in the organization to gain real-world experience. We welcome all University of Houston students!

Events

LEADERSHIP SERIES

The Leadership Series are events in which successful female leaders at the Bauer College and in the Houston area are invited to talk about their stories of success in a male-dominated industry. They share their background, accomplishments, hardships, and words of wisdom. Guest speakers also participate in our Lean-in Circle, a session of the same event in which we discuss a hot topic that pertains to women in business.

WORKSHOPS

Workshop events are set up to help UH students discover how to enhance their skills individually as well as in group settings. Our guest professionals create activities that will assist BWS members with teambuilding and inclusion.

COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENTS

For BWS, giving back to the community is a key component of the organization. We strive to engage in at least 3 community service events per semester. From assisting at dog shelters to preparing sandwiches for the homeless, our organization maintains a hands-on approach to our various philanthropic causes.

CORPORATE EVENTS

These events are held in a professional environment where BWS invites corporate identities to talk about their companies and exclusive internship opportunities for our members. This is a great way to be exposed to the corporate world and get to know what employers are looking for in potential interns and full-time employees.
