Meet the Team of Fall 2015

President

Aneesa Badat

Aneesa Badat is the President of Bauer Women Society. She is a student at the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management. 

This semester Aneesa will be an intern in the North America Supply Chain group for Schlumberger Oilfield Services.

She has been an active Bauer Women Society member since her first semester at Bauer in 2013 and has loved it ever since. She started as a member, then joined the executive board as the Operations Director, and now looks forward to being president. She can’t wait to begin working with her team to make this the best semester BWS has seen. 

Aside from academics, Bauer Women Society, and work, Aneesa enjoys giving back to the community through various events with many different organizations. In the future, she hopes to get the opportunity to visit a South African Safari to spend time learning more about elephants.

Vice President

Arsheen Memon

Arsheen Memon is pursuing a double major in finance with a specialty in Risk and Investment Management on a Pre-law track. She aspires to run her own corporate law firm one day. Arsheen has been an active member of Bauer women's society since Spring 2014 when she was also part of the finance directorate. 

In her past, she has held various leadership positions around the community and through her years in high school. In the recent semesters, she has interned at Premier International Realty in their finance and appraisal department and Reynolds and Reynolds in their Sales division. She is also the Founder and Director of her own company, where she helps build, develop, and grow new and existing medical facilities. In her free time, Arsheen enjoys volunteering to help develop skills like reading and writing in younger kids.

Arsheen loves fashion and believes in depicting one's personality through how they present themselves. Apart from shopping in her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.  

One mantra she always keeps in mind is, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, and become more, you are a leader" (John Quincy Adams). Her goal is to lead people through example and one day help create future leaders of tomorrow.

Finance Director

Sundas Khan

Sundas Khan is the Finance Director of Bauer Women Society.  She is currently a Senior at the C.T. Bauer College of Business, pursuing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance with a minor in Supply Chain Management. She has been an active member of Bauer women society since Spring 2015, when she was a part of the finance directorate. 

She currently works for Sightline Health in the Accounting department as an Accounting clerk/Intern. In her past, she has held various leadership positions and has had the opportunity of competing in a variety of competitions throughout her years in high school. 

Sundas has a deep interest in the expanding role of business in today’s health care. In the future after graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to undertake a dual degree in a MHA/MBA program. 

She enjoy's volunteering her spare time at pet adoption centers and discovering new and fun places to eat!

Sania Lari

Operations Director

Sania Lari is the Operations Director of Bauer Women Society. She is currently a Junior at the C.T. Bauer College of Business, pursuing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems. In the past, she held the role of community service director and has gotten to see the organization grow. 

Currently, she works at the Center of Student Involvement at the University of Houston as the Operations Coordinator for the Cougar Involvement Ambassadors. She gets the privilege of knowing the various student body leaders around campus and immersed in the different organizations. With these connections, she hopes to help Bauer Women Society become more involved around campus and within Bauer. 

Sania hopes she can get everyone else just as excited about the upcoming semester as she is. Be warned. She may come off as a very sarcastic person; however, don’t be afraid to approach her for suggestions on hole-in-the-wall restaurants around Houston or what to next binge-watch on Netflix. It’s her pastime.

Maria Fernanda Guerrero

Corporate Relations Director

Maria Fernanda Guerrero is the Corporate Relations Director for the Bauer Women Society. She is a freshman Latin student at the C.T. Bauer College of Business, pursuing a major in Supply Chain Management.

Aside from being an active member of the Bauer Women Society, she is a member of the Hispanic Business Student Association at the Bauer College of Business and part of the Association of Latino Professionals for America.

Maria is passionate about empowering women and minorities in her native country Mexico and the USA. She has volunteered in several events, such as the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Latin Women’s Initiative Fashion Show.

She currently works as a tutor at the Learning Support Services at the University of Houston. She is also part of the Ted Bauer Leadership Certificate Program (May 2016).

Nourhan Younis

Member Relations Director

Nourhan Younis is the Member Relations Officer of Bauer Women Society. She is an honors business student at C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, pursuing a degree in Marketing and Human Resource Management (2016). She has been an active member of Bauer Women Society since Fall 2014 when she was also part of the operations directorate.

As an international student at the University of Houston, she shows passion and pride in all that she does. She is interested in leadership and management of people and entities as well as event planning. Aside from her involvement in school, she is passionate about giving back to the community through various events and serving many refugee families. In the future, she hopes to own her own catering business.

Nourhan has a deep interest in the expanding role of business in today’s education system. She hopes to apply her academic and professional experience towards developing her country, Egypt, and helping young women follow their long-life dreams. Her goal is to lead people through example, and she hopes to promote the professional development of women in the Middle East.

Asmara Mengisteab

Secretary

Asmara Mengisteab is the secretary of Bauer women's society. She is a junior planning to declare her major in finance and minor in education. She has been an active member of the Bauer Women Society since the spring of 2015. This is her second year at the University of Houston, and she is having the time of her life! 

She plans to work in corporate finance after she gets her degree and plans to get a teaching degree soon after. Later she wants to teach finance, budgeting, and money management to juniors and seniors in high school. Her passion lies in teaching and encouraging young people to reach their full potential.  Her long-term goals consist of owning a private school, traveling the globe doing missionary work, writing a few books, and releasing an album. Her family has always been a major priority to her, and that's what keeps her motivated and grounded. She wants to help everyone she crosses paths within their growth as an individual. 

Some may refer to her as the old soul or the hippy. She finds true enjoyment in songwriting/singing, writing poetry, meditating, reading, and traveling in her spare time. With her keen eye for detail and organization, she wants to provide the members and officers a smooth semester full of professional/personal development, women empowerment, and the creation of leaders.

Brenda Zamora

Media Director

Brenda Zamora is the Media Director of Bauer Women Society. She is a business student at the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston, pursuing a major in Finance-Global Energy Management with a minor in Accounting. She has been an active Bauer Women Society member since Spring 2014, where she participated in the finance directorate before becoming an officer.

Currently, she works in the Accounting & Taxation Department at the C.T. Bauer College of Business. She is very passionate about women's empowerment and tries to implement change daily in her community.

Aside from academics, Brenda loves spending time in nature and going on long country rides.  She believes feeling uncomfortable in your surroundings is a great way to grow intellectually and emotionally. She holds spiritual values in high regard, which is why she embraces a sincere and open-minded attitude.

Brenda is very excited to interact with members this semester, so feel free to approach her and introduce yourself!
